Dr. Ian Binks

Veterinarian / Partner

Graduating from Sydney University in 1978.

Ian initially worked in England for 2 years after graduation and then returned to Australia to work at Mudgee Veterinary Hospital in 1981.


Ian is a mixed practitioner who concentrates on horses and cattle.

When not at the practice or being on the road as a Vet, you will find him travelling the world with his wife Cress.

Dr. Steve Slack-Smith

Veterinarian / Partner

Graduating from Sydney University in 1994, Steve worked in mixed practices Quirindi, Aryshire, Surrey and Hampshire. On returning to Australia he worked in an equine practice in the Southern Highlands for 4 years. Before returning to England in 2001 for the English Foot and Mouth outbreak.


He has a strong commitment to the clientèle and pets in Mudgee and has been here since 2002 as a mixed animal Vet.

Outside of MVH, Steve's keen interests are ocean swimming and dabbling in short course triathlons. Steve was president of Mudgee Swimming Club for 7 years. He is also a loving father of 3 children.

Dr. Paige Loneragan

Veterinarian / Partner

Paige graduated from Sydney University in 2005. Paige's first job was at Coolah Veterinary Clinic, which is mixed animal practice with a large proportion of cattle work. Paige is an extremely capable large animal vet who enjoys the full range of a mixed practice.

Paige loves raising her two boys in the country setting here and is a huge supporter of the Mudgee Region Community.

Dr. Kate Elder

Veterinarian / Partner

Kate graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2014. Kate grew up on a livestock and cropping property in the Narromine district. She is passionate about providing first-class, compassionate care for her patients, working closely with the patient’s owners to deliver the best outcome for everyone. 

Along with renovating her house, looking after her Corgi's and competing in triathlon's, she is delightfully devoted to her not so new bub Dixie.

Dr. Lisa Kennedy


Lisa graduated from the University of Sydney in 2014 and has been a part of the MVH team since 2015. Originally from Grafton, Lisa enjoys the challenges and variety of rural mixed practice, and has loved the move to Mudgee. She is a down to earth, friendly, easy going vet. With Lisa you will be genuinely cared for and we are truly excited to have her as part of your pet care team.

In her downtime, Lisa is a wonderful Artist. She creates beautifully detailed pencil drawings of Australian birds and wildlife. 

Dr. Jack Holman


Jack started with us in 2018, graduating from  Charles Sturt University in 2018. Jack has  a particular interest in Horse work, Cattle work and thoroughly enjoys small animal surgery.

When not at work he is a keen horseman and enjoys being on the farm, keeping active and hanging out with his cat Birty.

Dr. Liam Ryan


Dr. Anthea Nicholls


Anthea graduated from Sydney University in 1989. Initially Anthea worked in in a Victorian cattle dairy practice before becoming a locum in Sydney and England for 3 years. On here return to Australia Anthea worked in a Sydney small animal practice for 7 years. During this period Anthea undertook further study and obtained her MACVS (Member of the Australia College of Veterinary Scientists) in Small Animal Medicine.

Anthea is an active community member in Mudgee, volunteering for many different community groups. She loves running, keeping active, travelling and hosting exchnage students. She has three beautiful children and has throughly enjoyed raising them here in Mudgee.
